When I walked into the library and saw the new book shelves I saw it sitting on the top in a spot of honor facing me. It called to me actually, there is no denying it. I followed the beeline to the book and last night after coffee with friends, and coffee with hubby, I laid in bed and hungrily flew through the pages.
I am not a new blogger by any means of the word. I had to look to see how long I have been at this location and was surprised to see that it was only since 12/2008. Not even a year? I honestly can’t remember when I first began to blog, because I had websites galore before that. What I was doing with personal websites I’m not 100% sure at this point, but I’m sure it has something to do with wanting to write and wanting to be heard.
As I read through Blogging for Bliss I realized that my little blog might not fit exactly into the genre she was writing to, but I feel I have a foot in there as well. I love to quilt and crochet as much as I like to write, and so I do consider myself a crafter and at the very least a creative. Tara’s book is perfect for the beginner and great for those who need a refresher course as well. Creating your space on the web takes time and to really make it yours and feel right you have to pour yourself into it a little bit.
So, my question is this:: does this blog feel real? Does it feel like me? I’m already thinking about new skins, and maybe changing the header up monthly or so, but then at the same time I have lived with this simplicity for a while and even feel myself coming back to it in my home. So, does it need to be changed? What, if anything, would you as my friend suggest I do here at this blog to make it feel more comfortable, make you want to come back, and help you enjoy the experience a little more??

I love this post and will mull over it and get back to you about it.
LOVE this post!
Oh, me again.
I looked to see if our library has it (darn it, no), but found some other neat blogging/art-type books to put on my wishlist at Amazon! The author of the one you got, Tara Frey, has stuff in magazines pretty frequently, namely those Stampington ones you blogged about…the pricey ones. I’ve been to her blog as well…but it’s been awhile.
Thanks for the pick-me-up. I want so badly to find time for creative things at home, and my blog seems to be the only outlet, though a poor one much of the time.
You’ve inspired me!
As to your site here, I’d say make it what YOU want, not your readers, then you’ll enjoy playing with it and writing here. If simplicity is your thing, then go for it! You always make things look nice. OK, I’m done….yak, yak, yak!!!
simplicity is good (and the path the house is on is a good one), but I bet you could get a little more of your personality on here. Not the words of the blog, but the skin.
Make it you, you, you!!!
